Registration for this schedule starts on 02/11/2026 and ends on 07/06/2026
Participants must currently be in grades kindergarten to 5.
The dance program is designed for participants to explore various styles and genres of dance – from dance for musical theater and ballet to hip-hop and jazz and student soundtrack favorites such as Descendants or Kpop, all to enhance and expand the general understanding of dance. Each class begins with a simple stretch and moves into a dance combination. Our faculty welcomes you to let us know if you would like the class to highlight certain styles.
Through dance we seek to demonstrate beginner level techniques as various styles of
dances are explored. Participants are frequently placed in situations which require problem solving and deeper thinking which may lead to developing skills that last outside of the dance studio.
The music program introduces and/or reinforces numerous musical concepts through drumming. Essential musical skills addressed include note types (eighth, quarter, etc), rhythm, timbre (sound types), ways of performing (solo, ensemble), names of drums and percussion instruments and additional music fundamentals.
Students will learn the techniques of music making, and developing aural skills while listening, echo, and mirroring. Motor skills are developed through rhythm that assist in developing other areas used in dribbling a ball, riding a bike, and reading for example.
