Registration for this schedule starts on 02/11/2026 and ends on 07/13/2026
Participants must currently be in grades 1 to 5.
Students will work with the Beck Center team on visual art forms such as pottery, clay work, pinch pots, water coloring, collage work, and even cartooning! We will be joined by a cartoonist that has done work for Marvel and DC who gives tutorials to the students.
After lunch from 12pm-1pm, students will join the Play @ LRA camp, where they will participate in games, challenges, water days, and outside play.
Throughout the week, students will experiment with exciting forms of art including cartooning, watercolor, clay, painting, oil pastels, collage, mixed media, and so much more. Young artists will learn foundational art skills such as color mixing, texture, shading, composition, and creative design while creating unique projects inspired by their own ideas and imagination. Students will also discover the work and styles of famous artists such as Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, and Keith Haring, learning how different artists used creativity to tell stories and express emotions through their artwork. In addition to individual projects, students will collaborate on a large group mural that celebrates teamwork and creativity. Each student will also create and build their own personal art book throughout the week, filled with sketches, techniques, reflections, and completed artwork to take home and continue using long after the program ends.
